National League 5/24/70

Big Red Machine takes a 12 game winning streak into hapless San Diego. The Padres are coming off a split of a four game series with the Giants, which included a split of a twinbill on Sunday. The star of that day was Nate Colbert, San Diego's slugging first baseman, who smacked a pair of home runs in both games. Cincinnati swept a three game series from the Astros in the Astrodome over the weekend to pull within percentage points of the still hot Atlanta Braves.
