Tony Oliva cracked a homer and had 3 RBI at Metropolitan Stadium as the
Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox by the count of 10 to 5.

Jim Kaat(1-1) gave Minnesota a solid outing. He was reached for 11 hits and
no walks in 8 innings improving his ERA from 4.09 to 3.79. Both teams ended
up with 12 hits on the afternoon.

Tommy John(2-1) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving
up 5 hits and no walks.

First baseman Don Mincher had 3 base hits and Jim Hunter delivered 7 solid
innings as the Oakland Athletics defeated the Kansas City Royals in 14

game in the 14th inning. Campy Campaneris tripled. Wally Bunker then let
loose a wild pitch making Oakland the victor and beginning a joyous home town

the losing pitcher in relief. With this win, Oakland has a 5-8 record. They

Tom Murphy had a strong outing as the California Angels defeated the Milwaukee
Brewers 3 to 1 at Anaheim Stadium.

Murphy(1-2) put on a good performance. He allowed just 5 hits and no walks in
8 innings improving his ERA from 4.50 to 3.38. California out-hit Milwaukee
for the game, 8 hits to 5.

Ken Tatum gained credit for his 1st save. Marty Pattin(1-1) was the loser. He
