In a close game the St. Louis Cardinals registered 4 runs in the 8th inning
and got by the Minnesota Twins by the score of 6 to 4.
St. Louis had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning as they
scored 4 runs on 4 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Lou
Brock who brought a roar from the partisan Busch Stadium fans when he banged
out a single bringing in two baserunners. Minnesota had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.
