After a heart-breaking loss to the Astros the previous night, the Dodgers recovered behind the complete pitching effort of Claude Osteen and the bat of Willie Crawford to reserve a place in the first ever NLCS. The Los Angeles southpaw took a three hitter to the final frame before faltering. Crawford broke a scoreless tie off Astros ace Larry Dierker with a two run double in the sixth to propel the home team to the historic victory. |

Osteen(17-17) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Larry
Dierker(21-13) was the losing pitcher. 'Osteen just dominated us' losing
