St. Louis will be making a second consecutive trip to the Fall Classic thanks to a hot offense and the clutch pitching of one of the game's all=time great hurlers in Bob Gibson. Gibson did it again in a clinching situation, this time scattering nine hits in a complete game effort as the Redbirds finished off a dominating three game sweep of the stunned Dodgers in front of a home crowd at Busch Stadium in the first-ever National League Championship Series. St. Louis will now get a few days off as the ALCS continues to game 4. |
