Reese's Big Bat Brings Home ALCS MVP
Rich Reese of the AL Champion Minnesota Twins was named Most Valuable Player. Reese continued his hot hitting from the season, where he hit .359 with 18 homers and 74 RBI, into the postseason. The lefty swinging first baseman hit at a .429 clip, reaching base 8 of 14 plate appearances, knocked a double and home run, and tied Tony Oliva for the team lead in RBI with three.
